Dr. Murali Krishna Voonna
Managing Director and Chief Surgical Oncologist
Dr. Murali Krishna Voonna is a distinguished Surgical Oncologist and visionary leader with over 26 years of expertise in cancer care, specializing in onco-surgeries and robotic-assisted procedures. As the Managing Director and Chief Surgical Oncologist at Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (MGCHRI), Visakhapatnam, he has successfully performed over 12,000 complex surgical oncology procedures.
Dr. Murali Krishna Voonna played a pivotal role in establishing MGCHRI as a comprehensive, state-of-the-art cancer center, integrating advanced diagnostics, treatment, research, and holistic patient support services under one roof. His commitment to excellence has been instrumental in transforming MGCHRI into one of South India’s leading cancer care institutions.
He received his M.Ch. in Surgical Oncology from the Adyar Cancer Institute in Chennai, his MS in General Surgery, and his MBA in Hospital Administration from Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam. During his MBBS, he earned three gold medals in Biochemistry, Pathology, and General Surgery.
Dr. Murali Krishna Voonna has served in several leadership roles, including former Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Andhra Pradesh, and Chairman of the Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI). He was also the former Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Super Specialty Hospitals Association (ASHA) and has been a reviewer for the National Health Policy. Additionally, he is an advisor/member of several key healthcare committees for the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Dr. Murali Krishna Voonna has been recognized for his contributions to oncology and academic mentorship, having received the “Legend of the Year in Surgical Oncology” award from Times Healthcare Achievers in 2018 and 2019. He was also honored with the DNB Teacher Award and an Oration Award from The Nuclear Physicians of India for his research in nuclear medicine.

Dr. Voonna Sita Rama Swamy
Medical Director
Dr. Voonna Sita Rama Swamy is the Medical Director at the Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Research Institute, Visakhapatnam. In his 35 years of service to the State Government (Govt. of A.P.), he held a variety of positions, including Civil Asst Surgeon (Kurupam, Vizianagaram, and Bobbili), Deputy Civil Surgeon and Civil Surgeon Specialist (Bobbili, Salur, and Paravathipuram), District Co-ordinator of Health Services, and Superintendent of Head Quarters Hospital (Vizianagaram).
He retired as an Additional Director at the Regional Directorate of Medical and Health Services [Govt. of A.P.]. He is a life member of the Bobbili Lions Club. He organized and attended family planning, general surgery camps, and numerous medical camps in tribal communities. He has been working as a Medical Director for the past 18 years because of his desire to help others in the medical sector.

A.V.S. Lalitha Sundari
Chief Financial Consultant
Mrs. A.V.S. Lalitha Sundari is the Chief Financial Consultant at the Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Research Institute, Visakhapatnam. She is a Chartered Accountant and a member of ‘The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)’, New Delhi. She has around 25 years of broad expertise in the finance sector, including healthcare, IT, and manufacturing industries, and is in active practice in the profession of Chartered Accountancy.
Earlier, she served as a General Manager (Costing) at Eastern Power Distribution Company of A.P. Ltd., Visakhapatnam, Head of Finance and Accounts department at SNF (India) Pvt. Ltd., General Manager (Finance and Accounts) at Ardee Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Deputy General Manager (Finance) at Girijan Cooperative Corporation Ltd., Internal Auditor at M/s Eastern Power Distribution Company of A.P. Ltd. etc.,
She served as a Managing Committee Member of the Visakhapatnam branch of ICAI. During her tenure as a Managing Committee member, she served as Chairman of the CA Students Association, Treasurer, Vice Chairman, and Chairman of the Visakhapatnam branch of ICAI. Her services to ICAI were appreciated as the first lady Chairman of the Visakhapatnam branch of ICAI.
She has done Certificate Courses on Information Systems Audit, Goods and Service Tax, Valuation, and Concurrent Banking. These are the post qualification certificate courses of the ICAI, New Delhi. She delivers lectures at various forums like the ICAI (Confederation of Indian Industry), the GITAM School of Management, etc., on the subjects of her professional interest. She has made significant contributions by pushing the growth agenda, company turnaround, efficiency and rationalization, cost management, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and compliance and controllership procedures.

Dr. Subhadra Vompolu
Medical Superintendent
Dr. Subhadra Vompolu is the Medical Superintendent at the Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Research Institute, Visakhapatnam. She has over 25 years of experience in the government, private, and corporate sectors in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. She has expertise with EM Caesarian hysterectomy, the removal of huge ovarian tumors weighing over 13 to 20 kg, the removal of large fibroids, and central placenta previa management.
She held a variety of jobs at various levels of responsibility, including individual work in tribal areas in Asifabad, Civil Assistant Surgeon at Area Hospital in Salur, and Deputy Civil Surgeon at Vizianagaram. She has a responsible role in looking after the welfare of physicians in the hospital and has helped establish a coffee club and a library at hospitals. She is a member of Kayakalp, which is improving hospitals in Vizianagaram with funding from the Indian government. She carried out her work in tribal, rural, and semi-urban regions that were less equipped.
She is constantly engaged in medical camps, screenings, and awareness camps in rural, women’s welfare, and naval areas as Medical Superintendent. Self-breast cancer awareness camps and practical application workshops differ from person to person. She is the secretary of the scientific research and ethics committee, an active participant in hospital development, and a dedicated member of mortality audit, clinical audit, and blood transfusion as the heading secretary, where clinically related presentations from all consultants are gathered.
